Today I want to do something a little different. It’s been a tough week.
I am still stewing over the unexpected loss of a loved one. There will be
Two poems shared in these in article. One called A Prayer Of Comfort and
Dear Solider which was written in honor of my cousin Kiley Orgain.
So to all who have experienced the loss of a loved one. And to all who have
a loved one who served in the military this one is for you.
A Prayer of Comfort
I pray that God be your comfort in the midst of your sorrow
I pray that God will be your hope for tomorrow
I hope your burdens you don’t carry on your own
Because God is always there, you are never alone.
Remember the footprint in the sand
He carries us and knows for our lives what He as planned
He feels our pain quite clear
Crying is liquid prayer, only He sees every tear
So look up to sky for your redemption is near
He heals the brokenhearted and gives them a reason to cheer
May God wrap His loving arms around you in your time of need
And these times of grief, He will sow a seed

Dear Soldier
Dear Soldier, my heart goes out to you
I pray God protects you in all that you do
You are supported and loved
My heart breaks that you are away
But still I am hopeful for that day
When you return to us
But until then, in God we put our trust
I pray that God keeps you wherever you are
You are only a heartbeat away, which can be near or far
Never again will I take you for granted, you see
Dear Soldier, you mean a lot to this family
To hug you once more and again
Is a dream kept tight in my heart
Our love is with you Dear Soldier of ours
Please return someday
We miss you and send hugs and kisses your way
But if you do not return
The love in our hearts will still burn
We’ll miss you forever, but keep you close
But Dear Soldier it is God that loves you the most
He gave you to us as a gift
And it is God who will give to us that special lift
In our lives that place you will always hold
Dear Soldier you are more precious than gold
Lord, encourage us and our Dear Soldier
That we will meet again someday
Even if it may
Be in heaven or earth
You knew him before his birth
So keep him safe, and true
For that special meeting with you
I know he’ll be safe in your hands
So together we are, and for God he stands
I love you, Dear Soldier, that is what I want you to know
And it won’t be easy if I have to let you go
What is done must be done
Always remember you are a special someone
We will continue to watch and pray
For news of that day
The day you will return will be one of great peace
Our love for you will never cease
We love you and hope safely you’ll come home

Dedicated to my cousin Kiley Orgain,
who is like a brother to me,
and also to every man and woman
who is a soldier or veteran,
in war, or in time of peace, who has served their country
whether they are alive today or
have gone to be with God.
We love and miss and support our troops.
