Poetry is very versatile. You can use it to communicate just about anything. Whether it be about a moment in time, or a meaningful place. Poetry is what the writer makes it. I love the creativity poetry gives. I used this creativity to write a review on my favorite band. This review was read by a radio station in Farmington, NM. I have included it in this article. Just to show how much fun poetry can be.
My Review of the Newsboys The Way We Roll Tour in Farmington New Mexico 10/28/2009
October 30, 2009 at 12:18pm
When we came to Farmington, Mom, Dad and Me
It was “Something Beautiful” to see
I had no idea what was in store for me
I know with God I’m never alone
Then the stage lit up it was “Bread of Stone”
They rocked out to “Letting Go”
While outside there was fresh fallen snow
My anticipation grew like waves in the ocean
Then on stage was “Me in Motion”
As they sang “Gotta Be Something,” I had a thought
I’ve learned I can’t be something I’m not
Then came Grace with “One in a Million”
I gotta say
She took the stage and blew us away
Next was Seventh Day Slumber and we had a good time
As they sang “I can only Imagine,” and Caroline
It was “So Amazing” the spirit was there
As we worshiped with our hands in the air
Then Duncan spoke about a project so sweet
Steve gave details on giving that could not be beat
Helping Global tribe with their vision
In my heart it was an easy decision
Michael sang, and Duncan drummed
Jeff played the keys, and Jody strummed
Tho all I had was “Breakfast” I know ” I Am Free”
To live “In The Light,” and let Jesus “Shine” through me
It was so “Glorious” I had to “Dance” out of control
If anyone asks that’s ” The Way We Roll”
We’re “Colored People” all United together
“Not Ashamed” to be “Jesus Freaks” Forever
We tell the Lord, “Blessed Be Your Name”
We know we will never be the same
” He Reigns” in all we do
I know Jesus loves me and you
And the lights went out, the show came to an end
It was bitter sweet my friend
as the tour packs up to go
To share Jesus at another show
