Journey of Preparation

I am reminded of Ester 2:12-14. These verses tell us that Ester was in preparation for 12 months. the only details we are given are in verse 12. "a six-month treatment with oil of myrrh and six months with perfumes and other cosmetics for women. " The Complete Jewish Bible 2016.

Although we are only told of Queen Esther's physical preparations, I am sure she also prepared mentally. We see this after she becomes Queen. She faced going before the king without being summoned to save her people. She had Mordekhai have all the Jews gather and fast and pray for three days. She, too, fasted for three days along with her handmaidens. Ester 4:6. Fasting helps us to take control of our mind and keep it on Adonai.

I, too, am on a journey of preparation both physically and spiritually. We all must prepare for what Adonai wants us to walk in and fulfill. For Ester, it was to preserve Adonai's people through the blessing of being Queen. For us, it is what Adonai reveals we are to do. I pray we all have the patience to go through the preparation season and the fortitude to go and fulfill our mission on this earth.
